A day full of announcements at Marvel still ended with a bit of bad news as it was confirmed neither The Hulk or Black Widow will have solo projects any time soon….
Fans of Mark Ruffalo and Scarlett Johansson are free to revolt now.
Marvel president Kevin Feige had plenty of good news to share on Tuesday — The Avengers: Infinity War sequels, Captain America 3: Civil War, Black Panther and more — but one thing that didn’t happen today was any news on a Black Widow or Hulk stand alone feature.
Feige then confirmed after the initial event was concluded that there are no plans in place currently for either Black Widow or The Hulk to get their own stand alone films.
Now he did stress that both characters will continue to play an integral role in upcoming movies such as The Avengers 2: Age of Ultron, The Avengers: Infinity War as well as Captain America 3: Civil War.
It is believed both Ruffalo and Johansson are signed on for several movies in the Marvel canon, but for now neither one will be getting a feature film based on their character.
While The Hulk has had a couple attempts at solo life in the movies, Black Widow is a character that has quickly become a favorite with Marvel fans, especially considering Johansson’s excellent portrayal in past films such as The Avengers and Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier.
Johansson seemed like the perfect actress to launch the film as well, but it seems Marvel opted to go in another direction. There will be for the first time ever a female led superhero movie from the studio with Captain Marvel coming to life on July 6, 2018, but fans of Black Widow will just have to catch her on other films for the time being.
