Marvel studio boss Kevin Feige says that it’s inevitable for TV characters from the Marvel universe to appear in films….
Marvel Studios has built a huge resume of blockbuster films over the years, but the TV division has been doing some outstanding work recently as well with the success of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. as well as Agent Carter and the critically acclaimed series Daredevil on Netflix.
With the next Marvel series Jessica Jones set for release on November 20 and a massive slate of Marvel films on the horizon over the next few years, is there any chance the two worlds will finally crossover?
“I think (crossovers are) inevitable at some point, as we’re plotting the movies going forward and they’re doing the shows,” Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige said recently.
“The schedules don’t always quite match up to make that possible — it’s easier for them, they’re more nimble and faster and produce things quicker than we do, which is one of the main reasons you see the repercussions of Winter Soldier or Age of Ultron in the show.”
The main crossover point in the past have been the movies affecting the TV shows, primarily with Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. altering course after Captain America: The Winter Soldier came out at the tail end of season one of the show.
Lately, however, with so many Marvel series gaining popularity on TV there’s a lot of curiosity to see how those characters would fit into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
When it will happen remains a mystery, but there’s a chance now that we will see Daredevil pop up alongside Spider-Man one day or maybe Jessica Jones running into her old friends at The Avengers!
