The X-Men will be coming to FOX in a new TV series that’s being put together currently….
The mutants are coming to TV.
FOX has teamed up with Marvel television and Burn Notice creator Matt Nix on a pilot for a new X-Men TV series.
The show will be based around a mother and father who discover their children have mutant abilities and they are forced to go on the run from a hostile government and end up connected with an underground mutant network seeking to provide them salvation in order to survive.
The show will be developed by Marvel television — the same group responsible for Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Daredevil and Jessica Jones — alongside X-Men guru Bryan Singer as well as Simon Kinberg.
The new X-Men series is being pitched as another addition to a growing roster of superhero shows taking place on FOX, a lineup that already includes Gotham and Lucifer.
FX will also get into the mutant business with the series Legion already picked up for a full season order with Fargo creator Noah Hawley on board for that show.
Marvel has slowly but surely increased its presence on television with several series happening on ABC and Netflix and now the powerhouse studio will extend onto FOX with the new X-Men series as well as Legion on FX.
