There’s a new boss on ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ when the show returns for season 4….
When ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ came to an end for season 3, it was revealed that Coulson was no longer the man in charge as he was tasked with finding and hunting down rogue agent Daisy Johnson aka Skye aka Quake after the tragic events that finished off the Inhumans storyline.
The six-month time jump also left a lot of questions, most notably who took over for Coulson if he was no longer the director of S.H.I.E.L.D.?
Well at least half of that question was answered on Monday when Marvel announced that Jason O’Mara — best known for roles on “Complicated” and “The Good Wife” — has been cast as the new director when ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ returns in the fall.
That’s only half because O’Mara’s character wasn’t actually revealed outside of a teaser that his “Marvel roots go back to the 1940’s”.
“Bringing Jason into the mix as the New Director of S.H.I.E.L.D. forces everyone, particularly Coulson, to reevaluate their role in the Agency,” said Executive Producer and Marvel’s Head of Television, Jeph Loeb. “Jason has both the physical presence and acting dynamics that will connect with and challenge even the most loyal agent.”
Marvel’s ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ returns for season 4 on Tuesday, September 20 at its new time at 10pm ET on ABC.
