Dr. Who veteran David Tennant will be joining Marvel’s latest Netflix series ‘AKA Jessica Jones’ as an iconic villain from her past…
David Tennant — best known for roles on ‘Dr. Who’ and ‘Gracepoint/Broadchurch’ — has landed a role playing the villianous Kilgrave on the new Marvel series ‘AKA Jessica Jones’.
The show is based around superhero turned private detective Jessica Jones, who is played by ‘Breaking Bad’ veteran Krysten Ritter.
Kilgrave is described as an ‘enigmatic figure from Jessica’s past’ and his reappearance in her life will send ‘shockwaves’ through her world.
In the comic books. Kilgrave is Zebediah Killgrave, a former spy who develops mind control techniques, who actually kidnaps and keeps Jessica Jones captive over a period of eight months doing all sorts of hideous things to the former superhero.
How he’ll be adapted for the show is unknown, but considering Neflix doesn’t have network restrictions and given the source material around Jessica Jones being fairly dark, it’s anybody’s guess how deep Marvel will take his storyline.
‘AKA Jessica Jones’ is currently in production and will be the second Marvel series to debut on Netflix after Daredevil hits the subscription service on April 10.
