‘Dexter’ star Michael C. Hall is rumored to be the star of the new Marvel series ‘Daredevil’ on Netflix and while he’s not exactly confirming the news, it is something he’d be open to explore…
Marvel’s new series at Netflix will kick into high gear with production beginning on the first of those shows this summer. Daredevil, from show runner Drew Goddards, will be the debut Marvel series and rumors have circled that they may land a killer leading man.
Michael C. Hall, best known for his run on the Showtime series ‘Dexter’, has been the name around town as the top choice to play Matt Murdock aka Daredevil in the new series.
The veteran actor is currently taking part in a new Broadway play called The Realistic Joneses, and Vulture caught up with him to ask about possibly taking on the role in Daredevil. While Hall was certainly coy about divulging too much information, he definitely sounded open to the possibility of grabbing the billy club, suiting up and fighting crime in Hell’s Kitchen.
“I’ve heard them (rumors), but I think that’s all they are — rumors,” Hall said. “Don’t misunderstand, I would definitely consider it, but I can’t tell you any inside information, because I think they’re nothing but rumors.”
In a perfect world, Hall would be a slam dunk for Marvel to land an A-list actor to play Matt Murdock while simultaneously wiping out any bad memories of Ben Affleck dressed up in a Daredevil outfit from the god awful movie he started in from 2003.
Whether or not Michael C Hall is actually in the running or just a bunch of rumors, Daredevil can only hope it’s the former and this is actually how serious Marvel is about these new series heading to Netflix.
