Michael Douglas will reprise his role as Dr. Hank Pym in the upcoming Ant-Man sequel titled Ant-Man and The Wasp….
Good news Marvel fans!
Michael Douglas, who portrayed super scientist Hank Pym in the first Ant-Man movie, will reprise his role for the upcoming sequel titled Ant-Man and The Wasp due out on July 5, 2018.
Douglas confirmed the news in a recent interview after Marvel called him to open negotiations on bringing him back for the sequel also starring Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lily in the title roles.
“Just got a call recently – they want to negotiate for a sequel and I thought ‘That’s great!’,” Douglas said. “Hopefully, I won’t have to carry quite as much expositional dialogue as the first one but I had a wonderful time doing it. Just a great, great time.
“The cast was fantastic. Paul, Evangeline, Michael Pena – I’m sure he’ll be back. If they can scrape Corey Stoll off the wall, I’m sure they’ll want him too – he’s such a good villain. And Peyton too.”
Douglas had a large role in the first Ant-Man movie as the creator of the technology that allows the person wearing the Ant-Man suit to shrink down to microscopic levels and Lily also plays his daughter, Hope van Dyne aka The Wasp.
There are no details on the plot of the upcoming movie, but Rudd will return as Ant-Man in the upcoming Captain America: Civil War sequel and will likely also pop into the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War films that are coming from Marvel as well.
