Warner Bros. and DC just lost the director for ‘Wonder Woman’ after Michelle MacLaren dropped out of the project on Monday…
It ain’t easy making a big budget superhero movie. Just ask Edgar Wright.
Well, Michelle MacLaren — who was directing the upcoming ‘Wonder Woman’ film — has dropped out of the project due to ‘creative differences’.
MacLaren has been one of the most celebrated directors on television in recent memory working on series such as ‘Breaking Bad’, ‘Game of Thrones’ and ‘The Walking Dead’.
‘Wonder Woman’ was expected to be her big film debut, but now it appears the show will go on without MacLaren.
“Given creative differences, Warner Bros. and Michelle MacLaren have decided not to move forward with plans to develop and direct Wonder Woman together,” Warner Bros. said in a statement released on Monday to The Hollywood Reporter.
At this time, Gal Gadot is starring as Wonder Woman in the project and she will first appear on screen in next year’s ‘Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice’ film before moving over into her own starring film.
There’s no word yet on who might replace MacLaren but ‘Wonder Woman’ is slated for release in 2017.
