“The Haunting of Hill House” creator Mike Flanagan has announced the cast for his next series “The Midnight Club” including horror icon Heather Langenkamp…
Following the success of his series “The Haunting of Hill House” and “The Haunting of Bly Manor,” Mike Flanagan has started work on one of his newest shows called “The Midnight Club,” which is based on a book by author Christopher Pike.
Most recently, Flanagan has been putting the finishing touches on his other new series “Midnight Mass,” which just wrapped production with that show headed to Netflix.
“The Midnight Club” centers around a group of terminally ill children at a hospice where “five young men and women who met at midnight and told stories of intrigue and horror. One night they made a pact that the first of them to die would make every effort to contact the others from beyond the grave.”
The series will stream on Netflix.
This week, Flanagan announced the primary cast for the show while also promising a few surprises along the way with expected appearances from some old friends from one of his past series.
“The Midnight Club is made up of Adia, Igby Rigney, Ruth Codd, William Chris Sumpter, Aya Furukawa, Annarah Shephard and Sauriyan Sapkota,” Flanagan wrote.
“I’m thrilled to welcome back some familiar faces as Zach Gilford, Samantha Sloyan, and Matt Biedel join the cast in supporting roles. (Some other familiar faces from previous Intrepid projects to pop up as guest stars along the way.”

He then announced perhaps the most surprising news of the day with horror icon Heather Langenkamp joining the series as the doctor who runs the hospice where the children are staying.
“Anchoring the show as the enigmatic doctor who runs this hospice for young adults, I’m honored to welcome Heather Langenkamp,” Flanagan said. “To horror fans like myself, Heather is royalty, and I am so excited to work with her.”

Langenkamp is best known for her role as Nancy Thompson — the heroine who battles Freddy Krueger in the original “Nightmare on Elm Street” in 1984. She returned to reprise that same role in “Nightmare on Elm Street 3: The Dream Warriors” and then played a version of herself in Wes Craven’s “New Nightmare” as well.
With casting complete, production on “The Midnight Club” is expected to begin later this year with the series set to stream on Netflix. No release date has been confirmed yet.
