‘Mr. Robot’ has become a critical darling since debuting a year ago and now the show has been picked up for season 3 on USA…
‘Mr. Robot’ will be hacking into TV screens for a third season after the show was officially renewed by USA Network on Tuesday.
The award winning series from creator Sam Esmail has been a breakout hit for USA, especially during the freshman campaign when ‘Mr. Robot’ became the most talked about new series of the summer during 2015.
‘Mr. Robot’ season 2 hasn’t enjoyed nearly the same ratings as the first season — the show is averaging less than a million viewers per episode currently — but the critical success of the series can’t be denied.
Christian Slater already picked up a Golden Globe award for his work on the show and ‘Mr. Robot’ is nominated for six Emmy awards this summer including Best Drama and a best actor nod for Rami Malek.
“We couldn’t be more proud of Mr. Robot, a series that has pushed boundaries, captured the cultural zeitgeist and been honored as one of the best dramas on television,” NBCUniversal Cable entertainment president Chris McCumber said in a press release.
“Midway through its second season, Mr. Robot continues to break new ground and open up new opportunities for the network. We can’t wait to see where Sam Esmail and the entire brilliant Robot team take us next.”
‘Mr. Robot’ returns for a brand new episode this Wednesday night on USA starting at 10pm ET and make sure to check out our recap for the show each week as well.
