The cult favorite status of ‘Hannibal’ couldn’t save the series from being cancelled on Monday by NBC….
‘Hannibal’ has taken its last bite. The popular series from executive producer Bryan Fuller that chronicles fictional serial killer Hannibal Lecter has been a critical darling ever since it went on air three years ago, but unfortunately the ratings never followed suit. That ultimately led to the show’s demise as NBC announced on Monday that they were canceling ‘Hannibal’ after season 3 wraps up in August. The show has broken new ground for a broadcast television series, but the viewers never amounted to much over the three season run. Just recently ‘Hannibal’ dipped all the way down to 1.7 million viewers for an episode, which on a broadcast network all but signals the end of the road. The series will wrap up in August with the final episodes airing on NBC.
