There are several new ‘Game of Thrones’ season 7 photos including one showing Daenerys Targaryen riding a gigantic dragon…
A few years ago when George R.R. Martin was preparing for the release of the book ‘A World of Ice and Fire’ — an encyclopedia of sorts for the world he created around ‘Game of Thrones’ — he revealed one interesting fact about the dragons that are so often talked about in his books as well as on the television series on HBO.
Martin showed off a photo of Aegon I Targaryen — best known as Aegon the Conquerer — riding on his fearsome dragon, Balerion the Black Dread. The photo showed Aegon rather small in stature while standing on the back of Balerion, whose wingspan was reportedly so large that the shadows would engulf entire towns as he flew overhead.
Now through the first six seasons of ‘Game of Thrones’, we’ve witnessed Daenerys Targaryen’s own dragons develop from tiny creatures just out of the egg to the imposing beasts who helped her rain down fire on the slave masters in Meereen.
It appears Daenerys’ dragons are going to be even bigger — the size of 747 airliners to be exact — when ‘Game of Thrones’ season 7 picks up on July 16
According to one of the directors behind ‘Game of Thrones’ season 7, Drogon, who is pictured in the photo, is absolutely the size of a 747 with a flame that’s 30-feet in diameter.
