Pepper — played by Naomi Grossman — will return to American Horror Story after first appearing on the season titled ‘Asylum’…
One of the most interesting parts about Ryan Murphy’s scream filled series ‘American Horror Story’ is the way that the creators behind the series are able to re-invent the show every year with most of the same cast all playing new and different characters.
Through three seasons thus far, no character has ever recurred from one year to the next — until now.
Naomi Grossman, who portrayed Pepper, during the season titled ‘Asylum’ has been confirmed to return for the new season American Horror Story: Freak Show, which is set about 12 years prior to the events in her original appearance on the show.
Murphy confirmed the news to EW while also stating that this was a very calculated move and one they took careful consideration with before pulling the trigger to make it happen.
“We thought about it long and hard and we decided that it was interesting to do,” Murphy said.
The idea behind her appearance is the ringleader of the traveling carnival played by Jessica Lange goes around to prisons and mental institutions to find people to put in her ‘freak show’ while signing a waiver to officially become their guardian. It appears Pepper will be one of those attractions this season.
‘American Horror Story: Freak Show’ debuts on FX on Wednesday, October 8 at 10pm ET.
