Peter Dinklage has already wrapped his role as Tyrion Lannister in the final season of ‘Game of Thrones’ and he teases what to expect…
It was tough for Peter Dinklage to say goodbye to Tyrion Lannister after playing the iconic role on ‘Game of Thrones’ for eight straight seasons.
A couple of months ago, the multi-time Emmy winning actor wrapped his final scenes playing Tyrion and he admits that it was tough to say farewell to ‘Game of Thrones’ after the show has become such a big part of his life.
As far as the final season ahead with ‘Game of Thrones’ returning to HBO in 2019, Dinklage couldn’t say too much about how it all ends for Tyrion but he seems satisfied with the decisions that were made.
“I feel very, very — I’m trying to find the right word. I think he was given a very good conclusion,” Dinklage told Vulture. “No matter what that is — death can be a great way out.”
Obviously, Dinklage wasn’t teasing Tyrion’s death but rather the possibility that it could happen considering most believe his character is probably one of the safest to survive through the final episode.
As far as Tyrion’s progression, Dinklage really enjoyed the overall story his character followed where he was very much a different person during season one versus the one he played during season 8.
“He certainly developed a deeper sense of responsibility over the course of the show,” Dinklage said about Tyrion. “He was a pretty irresponsible character to begin with. He used his position as the outcast of his family like an adolescent would. He pushed it in their [the Lannisters’] faces. The beauty of Tyrion is that he grew out of that mode in a couple of seasons and developed a strong sense of responsibility. Not morality, because he always had that, but what to do with his intelligence.”
Dinklage will surely have more to say about the final season of ‘Game of Thrones’ once the debut date is announced and HBO fires up the promotion machine one last time for th epic series that will say goodbye in 2019.
