The filming for ‘Star Wars: Episode VII’ is already underway overseas with director JJ Abrams leading the way and while most of the new cast members for the updated movie haven’t been announced, one certainty are the original actors and actresses from the trilogy of films between 1977 and 1983 are coming back.
That includes Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher and even Peter Mayhew — who plays beloved sidekick Chewbacca.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Mayhew will reprise his role as the Wookie for the new Star Wars movie set for release at the end of 2015. He played Chewbacca in all of the original three movies as well — Star Wars, Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. He now joins his old castmates on the set of the new Star Wars.
Everybody go ahead and do your best Chewbacca roar — you know you want to!
