The first look at “The Strangers” trilogy with “Riverdale” star Madelaine Petsch has been revealed along with plot details for the new movie…
The terrifying premise behind “The Strangers” will be resurrected in a new trilogy with the first film from director Renny Harlin — best known for his work on films such as “Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master” and “Die Hard 2” — set for release in 2024.
The latest film features “Riverdale” star Madelaine Petsch in the lead role and we’ve got the first photos from the upcoming movie with a trailer expected to debut next week at New York Comic Con. “The Strangers” originally debuted in 2008 starring Liv Tyler, which also featured a sequel called “The Strangers: Prey at Night.”
The first plot details for the new film have also been revealed in the updated take on the horror classic about a trio of masked intruders engaging in a horrifying home invasion.
“From master director Renny Harlin (Cliffhanger, Die Hard 2, The Exorcist: The Beginning) comes a new trilogy of terror. In Chapter I, Madelaine Petsch (TV’s “Riverdale”) stars as a young woman starting a new life with her fiancé.
“Suddenly, during a road trip stop in a remote vacation rental in the woods, they become the prey of a mysterious gang of masked strangers who attack without warning or reason. What begins as a fight to stay alive becomes one woman’s journey of courage and cunning in this horror series bridging three compelling films.”
“The Strangers” is already being set up as a trilogy of films, although it’s not clear just yet how the movies will tie together outside of the home invasion angle and Petsch in the leading role.
For now, take a look at the new images from the upcoming reboot of “The Strangers,” which will be released into theaters in 2024:
