The adaptation of Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon’s iconic comic book series ‘Preacher’ is already one of the most talked about TV series in development and now the cast is starting to fill out at a rapid rate.
The latest sees British actor Joseph Gilgun — best known for his roles in series such as ‘This is England’ and ‘Misfits’ — starring as Cassidy the vampire in the ‘Preacher’ TV series.
‘Preacher’ tells the story of Jesse Custer, a small town pastor who is conjoined with a creature known as Genesis that possesses both the powers of angel and demon. The creation of Genesis ends with God leaving his throne in heaven and Custer along with his ex-girlfriend Tulip and Cassidy, go on a deity hunt as they search for the supreme creator.
‘Preacher’ has already cast most of the other major roles for the series including Ruth Negga as Tulip and now the only person remaining is Jesse Custer himself. Rumors have swirled that Marvel favorite Dominic Cooper is in negotiation for the part, but nothing has been confirmed at this time.
