Quentin Tarantino was ready to abandon his latest script for the western ‘The Hateful Eight’ after a copy of it landed online recently, but now the writer/director is reconsidering filming the movie once he makes some necessary changes…
When a copy of Quentin Tarantino’s script for his latest movie project ‘The Hateful Eight’ landed online, it didn’t take long for him to react with great vengeance and furious anger. The betrayal struck Tarantino deep and he decided quickly that he would shelve the entire project and work on a new script instead.
Well, since ‘The Hateful Eight’ was already out there, Tarantino decided to do a live reading of the script along with some of his nearest and dearest friends including Samuel L. Jackson, Tim Roth, Michael Madsen, Kurt Russell and Walton Goggins recently in Los Angeles.
It was there that Tarantino revealed he is reworking the script and will still likely shoot it at a later date because the version they were about to read would not be the same one he films.
“I’m working on a second draft and I will do a third draft but we’re reading from the first draft,” Tarantino said. “The Chapter 5 here will not be the Chapter 5 later, so this will be the only time it is seen ever.”
The reading took place in front of 1200 Tarantino fans who enjoyed the one and only reading of the film that will ever be done. Tarantino didn’t say how long it would take him to finish the script now that he’s re-doing many of the scenes, nor did he confirm if this will remain his next project, but it appears ‘The Hateful Eight’ will ride again.
