Quentin Tarantino is about to strike down upon someone with great vengeance and furious anger after his latest script for ‘The Hateful Eight’ leaked out, which has led the director to shelving the project all together….
Quentin Tarantino doesn’t seem like the kind of guy you’d want to piss off, but that’s exactly what one of his most trusted actors accomplished when they passed around the script for his latest movie ‘The Hateful Eight‘.
Word leaked out over a week ago that Tarantino had completed writing the script for his latest project, an ensemble western follow up to his last smash success Django Unchained.
According to Tarantino while speaking to Deadline, he narrows the culprit down to a couple of agents for actors he gave the script to review once he finished writing. Let’s just say he’s not happy at all.
“I’m very, very depressed,” Tarantino said. “I finished a script, a first draft, and I didn’t mean to shoot it until next winter, a year from now. I gave it to six people, and apparently it’s gotten out today.”
“I gave it to one of the producers on Django Unchained, Reggie Hudlin, and he let an agent come to his house and read it. That’s a betrayal, but not crippling because the agent didn’t end up with the script. There is an ugly maliciousness to the rest of it. I gave it to three actors: Michael Madsen, Bruce Dern, Tim Roth. The one I know didn’t do this is Tim Roth. One of the others let their agent read it, and that agent has now passed it on to everyone in Hollywood. I don’t know how these fucking agents work, but I’m not making this next. I’m going to publish it, and that’s it for now. I give it out to six people, and if I can’t trust them to that degree, then I have no desire to make it. I’ll publish it. I’m done. I’ll move on to the next thing. I’ve got 10 more where that came from.”
The rumors are that the leak came from Dern’s agent at CAA but there is no way to confirm that they in fact where the agency where the script came from. Either way, Tarantino is resolved to move on from ‘The Hateful Eight‘ and move on to another project.
He says that there’s always a chance he will go back to the film at a later date, but for now he’s moving his focus to a new project far away from ‘The Hateful Eight‘
