With Captain America: The Winter Soldier set for release in just a few short months, rumors are heating up that one of the stars from the original film may be getting her own TV series in the near future.
According to The Mirror in the United Kingdom, British actress Hayley Atwell has signed on to star in a new series about her character from Captain America: The First Avenger. The series about Agent Carter would be a period piece taking place after Cap goes missing following his win over The Red Skull and HYDRA.
Again, these are just rumors but there have been reports about a possible Agent Carter series for months now, especially after the short that was filmed and included on the Iron Man 3 blu-ray released in 2013.
With Marvel’s continued expansion into television via Agents of SHIELD as well as their new deal with Netflix to produce several series in the next couple of years, anything is possible for Atwell and Agent Carter.
