It seems the final pieces of the puzzle for True Detective season 2 are coming together with Rachel McAdams close to landing the lead female role….
Rachel McAdams — best known for her roles in ‘The Notebook’ and ‘Wedding Crashers’ — is close to locking down a deal to star as the female lead in the True Detective season 2.
According to Variety, McAdams ended up being the choice of the producers and show creator Nic Pizzolatto amongst a huge list of top actresses who were also vying for the role.
Names like Jessica Biel and Malin Ackerman were also being discussed, but ultimately it was McAdams who got the nod.
The new season of True Detective will begin production this fall with a 2015 release date on HBO. McAdams would be joining already announced stars Colin Farrell and Vince Vaughn, who were officially confirmed to star in the project earlier this week.
