The upcoming spin off film Star Wars: Rogue One from director Gareth Edward is closing in on a male lead to go opposite Felicity Jones…
Ben Mendelsohn — best known for his parts in films such as ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ (he played bad guy John Daggett) and ‘Exodus: Gods and Kings’ — is in negotiations to potentially land the lead role opposite Felicity Jones in ‘Star Wars: Rogue One’.
The film is a spinoff from the ‘Star Wars’ series that will open on December 16, 2016 from director Gareth Edwards (Godzilla).
There’s nothing known about the film yet other than ‘The Theory of Everything’ star Felicity Jones is set to play one of the lead roles in the film.
According to Deadline, Mendelsohn is circling the lead role with producers and the director very interested in him joining the cast.
Mendelsohn can also be seen in the new Netflix series ‘Bloodline’ which just dropped last week from the online subscription service.
