In the expanded Star Wars universe coming from Lucasfilm and Disney, a new movie will land in theaters every year for the next few years with Rogue One: A Star Wars Story being the first spinoff set to debut on December 16.

Rogue One follows a band of rebels tasked with infiltrating the Galactic Empire and stealing plans to the Death Star. The story takes place before the events of Star Wars: A New Hope.
