Marvel is pulling out all the stops for the new Netflix series ‘Daredevil’ with veteran actress Rosario Dawson as the latest to join the cast…
The first Marvel series on Netflix will certainly have no shortage of great actors and actresses with Rosario Dawson being the newest edition to the cast of ‘Daredevil’, which already includes Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio.
Marvel announced Dawson’s casting on Friday while stopping short of saying what character she’ll be playing in the series.
Dawson’s character is described as “a dedicated young woman whose quest to heal the wounds of Hell’s Kitchen brings Matt Murdock unexpectedly crashing into her life, while her own journey forever alters the course of his battle against the injustices of this broken city.”
So chances are Dawson will be playing Elektra in the upcoming series, but until the official announcement is made everything is hush-hush.
Elektra seems like the best candidate for Dawson considering her major role as both friend and foe to Daredevil and his alter ego Matt Murdock throughout the history of the ‘Daredevil’ comic books. Then again the character of Daredevil has forged relationships with numerous women over the course of the book’s history so there’s always a chance Dawsom could be playing someone other than Elektra.
‘Daredevil’ will pick up production this summer with a 2015 debut date set for the Netflix series.
