There was some concern that the ‘Deadpool’ movie would be edited to become a ‘PG-13’ feature but star Ryan Reynolds confirmed that the film will indeed be rated ‘R’….
For those unfamiliar with ‘Deadpool’ in the comic book world, he’s nothing if not unconventional by ‘superhero’ standards and definitely not a cookie cutter, Saturday morning cartoon kind of guy.
An assassin by trade who makes bad jokes and never seems to shut up, Deadpool has always been a character steeped in violence and plenty of adult language and it appears the movie starring Ryan Reynolds will stay true to the source material with the film officially being shot as an ‘R’ rated feature.
There has been discussion ever since the film was announced whether or not 20th Century FOX would allow the film to be rated ‘R’ or turned into a more age friendly ‘PG-13’ rating.
It seems the folks who wanted to stay loyal to the nature of Deadpool won the battle and the movie will officially be rated ‘R’.
Reynolds broke the news while breaking something over Mario Lopez’s head in this video.
February 12th. There will be blood. Guns. F-bombs. And graphic, expertly lit French Unicorn sex. #deadpoolRatedR @deadpoolmovie #Aprilpools
