San Diego Comic Con Live Blog — Thursday, July 18

San Diego Comic Con is in full swing as Thursday’s events get under way capped off by the last ever panel for the popular Showtime series Dexter.

The Nerdcore Movement will be on the scene at Comic Con with updates about the panels on Thursday including Dexter and the X-Files 20th Anniversary panel with David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson both making appearances.

There is also a special 35th anniversary panel celebrating Battlestar Galactica that should be great to see.

First up today is the Battlestar Galactica 35th anniversary panel. Several cast and crew members will be in attendance

Richard Hatch, who played in both the original Battlestar Galactica as well as the re-imagined version

Edward James Olmos makes an appearance today

Richard Hatch reveals that original Battlestarcreator Glen Larson has been planning a film for the series but it will be another re-imagined version with new cast and story. Also famed director Bryan Singer is on board but no detail when it might come to reality

Defiance season 2 will begin production on August 12. New season debuts in June 2014

Kevin Murphy who is the showrunner for Defiance also announces that he’s casting for a live theater version of the classic cult film “Heathers” coming out later this year

First look at the Sentinels from X-Men Days of Future Past

The placement of Trask Industries locks down Bolivar Trask as the Sentinel making, mutant hating baddie for X-Men: Days of Future Past (He will be portrayed by Game of Thrones Peter Dinklage)

– The trailer for the new Terry Gilliam film The Zero Theorem showed on Thursday. The science fiction story stars Tarantino favorite Christoph Waltz in the lead role. The panel included the first 10 minutes and lets just say its very Terry Gilliam

-Dexter season 8 will be released on DVD and blu ray on November 5 along with a special edition set of all 8 seasons that will look like this:
