Actress Scarlett Johansson has reportedly signed on to star in the adaptation of ‘Ghost in the Shell’ from the famous Japanese anime series….
Scarlett Johansson has another action franchise on her hands after reportedly signing on to star in ‘Ghost in the Shell’.
According to Variety, Johannson will lead the new action/science fiction vehicle based on the popular Japanese animation series.
‘Ghost in the Shell’ is about a special ops team that works to stop cyber-terrorism in the not too distant future as technology has become the biggest threat to humanity.
Margot Robbie, best known for her work in ‘The Wolf of Wall Street’, was once rumored for the role as well but she just recently signed on to star in the new DC/Warner Bros. film ‘The Suicide Squad’.
Now it appears Johansson will take the role and lead the franchise and considering her star/drawing power, it all makes perfect sense.
Before ‘Ghost in the Shell’ gets underway, Johansson will first gear up for the release of ‘The Avengers 2: Age of Ultron’ which lands in theaters in May.
