Ryan Murphy’s Scream Queens will return for season 2 with the setting also revealed on Friday as well as news that Jamie Lee Curtis will return ….
The Scream Queens will live to scare again.
On Friday, FOX announced that Scream Queens has officially been renewed for season 2 in 2016 following a freshman season that didn’t exactly pull in monster ratings during initial viewings but ultimately became a hit for the network across multiple viewing platforms as well as becoming a top show on social media.
The setting for Scream Queens season 2 was also revealed following reports that the show would shift into a summer camp — it seems Murphy had a change of heart and will instead take the anthology series to a hospital instead.
The hospital in season two is where “some of the most fascinating and bizarre medical cases are under observation.”
While FOX executives didn’t announce who will carry over from Scream Queens season one to season two, Jamie Lee Curtis is expected to return as the show’s featured star. It appears the plan is to have Curtis headline Scream Queens the way that Jessica Lange headed up Murphy’s other hit series American Horror Story for the first four seasons.
As for the rest of the cast, everybody who signed onto Scream Queens had multi-year deals so it’s likely more than a few familiar faces will return for season 2.
Look for Scream Queens season 2 in the Fall of 2016.
