Sleepy Hollow will return for season 4 on FOX and the show will move on without one of they key stars…
It was a shocking end to Sleepy Hollow season 3 when series star Nicole Beharie was killed in the finale and it looked like the writers and producers were preparing for an inevitable end — the cancellation of the series.
Instead, FOX rescued Sleepy Hollow from the scrap pile and renewed the fantasy series for season 4 kicking off in the fall of 2016.
Sleepy Hollow was a critical and commercial darling during its freshman season, but a more complex storyline didn’t seem to draw viewers in for season 2 and the creative team behind the show was switched out.
Season 3 was largely a mediocre effort by all accounts, but still Tom Mison and Nicole Beharie shined as the series leads playing Ichabod Crane and Detective Abbie Mills.
Now it appears the show will go on without Beharie as part of the cast after she reportedly asked off the show due to her unhappiness with the direction the series was heading.
There’s no word on who else may or may not return to Sleepy Hollow season 4 besides Mison in the lead role. Co-star Lyndie Greenwood lived through the season 3 finale, but as of yet she hasn’t posted any kind of reaction on her social media about the renewal so there’s always a chance she’s not coming back either.
Regardless of who is returning, Sleepy Hollow will definitely be back for season 4 and it will be interesting to see what the writers and show runners decided to do with the series after one more chance at new life.
