Kurt Sutter’s outlaw drama Sons of Anarchy came to an end on Tuesday night with ratings reported on Wednesday reaching record numbers for the biggest show in FX history.
According to the Nielsen ratings, the Sons of Anarchy series finale reached an average of 6.4 million people with 4.215 million falling in the coveted 18-49 year old age demographic.
The numbers are series highs for the show although the final rating won’t be available for a few days and those final tallies should go significantly higher. Currently, the ratings just beat the season 7 premiere back in September.
Over the course of the seven year run, Sons of Anarchy became the most popular show in FX history.
