Every year for the past few seasons, Sons of Anarchy creator Kurt Sutter has been running a contest that if the season debut for a new season beats the previous debut, he will fly a group of fans out for a special screening of the show with the cast and crew.
Well it looks like Sutter will have to pay up once again.
The final season of Sons of Anarchy debuted on Tuesday night to monster ratings, beating out every other show on cable and network in their timeslot.
The show grabbed 6.2 million viewers with a 3.2 rating amongst 18-49 viewers, the most coveted demographic on television.
Those ratings mark the highest ever in Sons of Anarchy history, going five percent above last season’s debut.
Expect numbers to continue to be huge all season long as Sons of Anarchy rolls towards the series finale in December.
