There was no doubt that the final season of Sons of Anarchy would bring in monster ratings for FX. The outlaw biker drama created by Kurt Sutter was already the most watched show in FX history, but it’s always hard to predict how an audience will grow or fall from season to season.
Well the jury is on on the final seaeson for Sons of Anarchy and the series is in for a very, very big year.
Following debut ratings that saw the show debut to 6.2 million viewers — with 4.1 million in the coveted 18-49 age demographic. Now with Live +3 data (which means viewers who watched the show live plus replayed the debut within 3 days on a DVR), the debut episode has shattered all previous records at FX.
The new numbers including an audience of 9.25 million viewers for the initial broadcast at 10pm ET and 6.1 million in the key demographic.
In other words Sons of Anarchy was a massive hit last Tuesday and those numbers will eventually be topped by the series finale in December. Last year when Breaking Bad debuted its final year, the numbers were incredible all year long but then the finale was a monstrous hit.
Expect the same kind of reaction and ratings from the final year of Sons of Anarchy.
