Charlie Hunnam is the top choice to land the lead role in the upcoming ‘King Arthur’ series, which is expected to run for six films….
It looks like Charlie Hunnam will do just fine in his post ‘Sons of Anarchy’ career as the British actor is close to landing the lead in the new Guy Ritchie led ‘King Arthur’ epic penned by Joby Harold and rumored to span at least six films.
While the deal isn’t done yet according to Deadline, Hunnam is the top choice to land the role of King Arthur in the epic fantasy battle with negotiations ongoing currently.
Hunnam has already starred in a couple of featured roles, most notably in Guillermo Del Toro’s ‘Pacific Rim’ and he’ll also star in his next picture ‘Crimson Peak’. Hunnam is expected to star in the follow up to ‘Pacific Rim’ next year as well.
Iris Elba (Luther) has also been circling a part in the upcoming ‘King Arthur’ film, possibly playing Merlin while Elizabeth Olsen (Godzilla, Avengers 2) is also rumored to land the lead female role in the movie.
With six films planned for the series, this appears to be a pretty extended endeavor for the entire cast and Hunnam’s star power will certainly lead the way.
