The Image Comics book ‘Officer Downe’ from creator Joe Casey will begin production later this year with Slipknot frontman Shawn ‘Clown’ Crahan in the director’s chair and now the project has a star as well.
Kim Coates — best known for his role as Tig Trager on the recently completed ‘Sons of Anarchy’ — will play Officer Downe in the new film.
The movie centers around an LAPD officer who gets killed in the line of duty time after time before his superiors find a way to telekinetically put him back together and send him out on the streets again looking for justice.
The film is written by Casey and directed by Crahan, who will be making his features debut with the project although he has directed many of Slipknot’s music videos in the past.
‘Officer Downe’ is expected to go into production in March with a release date still to be determined.
