Ryan Hurst — best known as Jax Teller’s best friend Opie Winston on FX’s hit show Sons of Anarchy — has signed on to star in Bates Motel season 3.
Hurst will play a role that he should have too many problems with — his character Chick Hogan is a “bad ass ex-con with an intelligent, menacing quality” who opens a motorcycle shop next door to Dylan’s pot farm. Oh and to add a little extra Sons of Anarchy flavor to the role — Hurst’s character makes the bulk of his money in an illegal gun running business.

Hurst’s character butts heads with Caleb, played on the show by Kenny Johnson, who portrayed Kozic on, yep you guessed it — Sons of Anarchy.
The new season of Bates Motel will bow on A&E in March 2015.
