(As the new season of Sons of Anarchy approaches, the Nerdcore Movement will present a special Days of Anarchy news section with interviews, video and information about the upcoming sixth season of the show)
The new season of Sons of Anarchy will debut on September 10 with a special 90-minute episode, but there will be a much different look to the table that President Jax Teller presides over.
At the end of season 5, former club vice president Bobby Munson laid down his patch after Jax went through a violent course of actions that he didn’t sign off on or agree with in any way. With Jax now walking a path similar to that of his stepfather Clay, Bobby gave up the vice president’s seat in the closing moments of the final episode last year.
Now with the new season set to get underway in September, a video showing a few minutes of footage of the debut episode that aired at San Diego Comic Con revealed a few key spoilers without giving away too much.
One major revelation was that Filip “Chibs” Telfort has given up his role as sergeant at arms and will now be Jax’s new vice president. In the small clip shown during Comic Con, Chibs is seen riding his bike with the vice president’s patch sewn securely on his leather cut.
This will serve as the third vice president to the SAMCRO chapter since the show started five seasons ago (Jax was VP before bumping to president, and then Bobby followed).
It’s unclear who will take over as Jax’s new sergeant at arms with Chibs now occupying the vice president’s role.
The special 90-minute episode will debut on FX on September 10 at 10pm ET/PT with the show running each Tuesday night at the same time throughout the season.
