The cast for the ‘Sons of Anarchy’ spinoff ‘Mayans MC’ continues to grow…
Clayton Cardenas — best known for a role in ABC’s ‘American Crime’ — has been cast in the pilot of the ‘Sons of Anarchy’ spinoff series tentatively titled ‘Mayans MC’ from creator Kurt Sutter.
Cardenas is set to play Angel Reyes — brother to the lead character in the show EZ Reyes, who is a prospect trying to earn his way to full patch status with the Mayans while struggling with a desire for revenge against the Mexican cartel as well as his need for respect from the woman he loves.
Angel is “a full patch member of the Mayans MC, Santo Padre. He lives with the burden of being the “lesser son” in a proud Mexican family who loves few and trusts even fewer.”
Cardenas is the second cast member announced for ‘Mayans MC’ in the past few days after Edward James Olmos joined the show just recently as he plays Felipe Reyes, the patriarch of the Reyes family, “who, after years of being crushed by bullets and labor, struggles to keep his past buried and lead his sons down a lawful and righteous path.”
Filming for ‘Mayans MC’ is expected to start in March and if the pilot is successful, the show could get picked up to series by FX.
