Sophie Turner, who plays Sansa Stark on ‘Game of Thrones’ says season 5 has some moments that may be more shocking than the Red Wedding…
When it comes to jaw-dropping moments in TV history there may not be one greater than ‘Game of Thrones’ season 3 when the Stark family was massacred at the Twins in an event that will forever be known as ‘The Red Wedding’. The moment was so huge that a slew of YouTube videos popped up online days later showing the reaction of viewers who were seeing the event for the first time (assuming they didn’t read the books first of course).
It seems ‘Game of Thrones’ season 5 might end up with a few more wide-open eyes after some of the shocking moments that are going to happen when the show returns on April 12 on HBO.
Sophie Turner, who plays Sansa Stark on the show, told Huffington Post this week that viewers should hold onto something tight because season 5 is going to be a very bumpy ride.
“There’s some massive moments, perhaps even more shocking than the Red Wedding type of thing. There’s like a lot going on this season,” Turner said. “There’s also, you know, a lot of blood, a lot of death. And a lot of people kind of come far. And there are a few familiar faces around as well.”
One thing we do know for sure is Turner’s own storyline alongside Aidan Gillen, who plays Lord Petyr Baelish, is coming close to the end of the story that’s already been written in the books by George R.R. Martin so it’s hard to say how far this new duo will go in season 5.
There are plenty of possibilities for the show following an epic pair of episodes to book end the season last year and it’s safe to say ‘Game of Thrones’ always ends with a lot of shock and awe for anybody tuning in week to week.
