‘Sons of Anarchy’ creator Kurt Sutter is busy at work on his new TV show but he also has a movie coming out starring Jake Gyllenhaal…
‘Sons of Anarchy’ creator Kurt Sutter is currently in England scouting locations for his new FX series ‘The Bastard Executioner’ but if you miss his writing he has a new film set for release this summer starring Jake Gyllenhaal.
‘Southpaw’ — written by Sutter along with Richard Wenk — tells the story of championship fighter caught in a downward spiral in his life after an accident who is resurrected thanks to guidance from a washed up ex-boxer played by Forest Whitaker.
The film was written by Sutter with the lead role intended for Marshall Mathers, better known as Eminem. The project never took off with him attached so the film will now star Gyllenhaal in the lead role with ‘Training Day’ director Antoine Fuqua behind the camera.
‘Southpaw’ is set for release on July 31 and will star Gyllenhaal along with Rachel McAdams, Curtis ’50 Cent’ Jackson and real life boxer Victor Ortiz.
