Expectations are high for the new Spider-Man franchise because ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming 2’ already has a release date…
Less than 24 hours after the first official trailer for ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ debuted, there’s already a date for the sequel from Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios.
‘Spider-Man: Homecoming 2’ is slated for release on July 5, 2019.
The first ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ movie is due out on July 7, 2017 so the sequel will come out almost exactly two years later with high hopes from Sony and Marvel now that they’ve teamed up to give a new spin on the famous webslinger.
Tom Holland stars as Peter Parker/Spider-Man in the upcoming movie alongside Marisa Tomei, Michael Keaton, Zendaya and Robert Downey Jr., who will appear as Tony Stark/Iron Man in the film.
Obviously the announcement of the release date comes with no details about the movie — especially considering the first film hasn’t even been released yet — but just about everybody involved seems to believe ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ is going to be a monstrous release for Sony and Marvel.
‘Spider-Man: Homecoming 2’ — clearly a working title for the sequel — will follow the fourth Avengers movie due out on May 3, 2019.
