A sequel to ‘Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse’ will land in theaters on April 8, 2022.
An official announcement was made earlier this week via a tweet from the ‘Spider-Verse’ Twitter account along with a video that showed the spider symbol spray painted by Miles Morales in the original film.

‘Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse’ ended up being a breakout hit for Sony after earning more than $375 million at the box office and then taking home the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature.
The original film saw numerous Spider-Men — and women — from across the multi-verse team up together to stop The Kingpin and his cohorts as they attempted to open up a portal that would allow him to reconnect with his family after his wife and son died tragically on his own world.
The movie was a critical hit as well before taking home the Oscar earlier this year.
Now the sequel will arrive in theaters in 2022 with Joaquim Dos Santos — current showrunner on ‘Voltron’ — set to direct the new ‘Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse’ film.
