Several members of the ‘Star Wars’ family paid tribute to Carrie Fisher following her passing this week…
Carrie Fisher was a beloved actress, author, mother, and daughter as well as a princess to those that knew her best from the ‘Star Wars’ saga, where she first appeared at age 19 in the classic first film in the franchise released in 1977.
Sadly, Fisher passed away on Tuesday after suffering a heart attack last week en route on a flight from London to Los Angeles.
As Princess Leia, Fisher created a hero for generations to come and her performances were nothing short of legendary.
Long before there was a Buffy the Vampire Slayer or a Jessica Jones, Princess Leia was the original ass kicking female character who didn’t take a backseat to anybody when it came time to save the day.
The impact she made on the lives of those around her were even greater and that’s why the outpouring of tributes to Fisher have been many since news of her tragic death broke earlier this week.
Numerous members of the ‘Star Wars’ family have spoken about time spent with Fisher and how much she meant to them over the years.
We’ve gathered all of those statements in one place as the ‘Star Wars’ universe pays tribute to the great Carrie Fisher:
Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker)
Harrison Ford (Han Solo)
“Carrie was one-of-a-kind…brilliant, original. Funny and emotionally fearless. She lived her life, bravely. We will all miss her.”
George Lucas (Star Wars creator)
“Carrie and I have been friends for most of our adult lives. She was extremely smart; a talented actress, writer and comedienne with a very colorful personality that everyone loved. In Star Wars she was our great and powerful princess – feisty, wise and full of hope in a role that was more difficult than most people might think. She will be missed by all.”
Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca)
