Star Wars Episode VII finally gets a release date for 2015…
Following a mountain of speculation, the JJ Abrams led Star Wars Episode VII reboot has finally landed with a release date.
The new movie in the Star Wars saga will and in theaters on December 18, 2015 according to a press release from Lucasfilm.
“We’re very excited to share the official 2015 release date for Star Wars: Episode VII, where it will not only anchor the popular holiday filmgoing season but also ensure our extraordinary filmmaking team has the time needed to deliver a sensational picture,” said Alan Horn, chairman of Walt Disney Studios.
Abrams recently stepped in to help finish the script for the new Star Wars movie along with Lawrence Kasdan, who is best known as the screenwriter for both The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi.
Filming for Star Wars: Episode VII will begin in 2014, although exact start dates have not been confirmed.
