The movie was written and directed by Rian Johnson, best known for his work on the sci-fi film ‘Looper’ starring Bruce Willis and Joseph Gordon Levitt.
The title of the new ‘Star Wars’ film undoubtedly refers to Luke Skywalker, who re-emerged at the end of ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ after he had disappeared with both the Resistance and the First Order seeking him out.
Now Skywalker is pulled back into the fray following the death of his good friend Han Solo at the hands of his son Kylo Ren, who was likely a former student of Luke’s before he turned to the dark side of the Force.
With the announcement of the name and production on the movie finished, it won’t be long before a teaser for the film is finally releasd, most likely in the spring or summer ahead of the release.
