Following ‘Stranger Things’ being renewed for season 2 on Netflix, a few new characters are being added to the cast….
To no one’s surprise, ‘Stranger Things’ was officially renewed for season 2 on Netflix earlier this week and the creators behind the show have already started looking into adding a few new characters for the sophomore campaign.
The Duffer brothers said when ‘Stranger Things’ was first confirmed for season 2 that they would be adding four new characters, who would play substantial roles opposite the rest of the returning cast.
While the roles haven’t been cast as of yet, the details about the characters for ‘Stranger Things’ season 2 have now been revealed. Check out who will be coming to Hawkins in 1984 when ‘Stranger Things’ returns in 2017 according to a casting list obtained by The Hollywood Reporter:
Max is a tough and confident 13-year-old female whose appearance, behavior and pursuits are more typical of boys than of girls in the era. She has a complicated history and a difficult relationship with her stepbrother, Billy, that’s made her protective of her past and generally suspicious of those around her. She’s also good on a skateboard, which she uses to get around pretty much everywhere.
Billy is a super muscular, overconfident 17-year-old. He’s so captivating and edgy that there are rumors flying around that he killed someone at a school he attended in the past. Billy steals peoples’ girlfriends, is a drinking-game pro and drives a black Camaro. But his violent and unpredictable nature shows itself to those closest to him, especially to ones who are younger than he is.
Roman, meanwhile, is described as a male or a female of any ethnicity between the ages of 30 and 38. After growing up homeless with a drug-addicted mother, he or she suffered a great loss at an early age and has been seeking revenge ever since. Roman is ultimately an outsider who doesn’t understand how to connect with people.
There is going to be a fourth addition to the cast according to the Duffer brothers, but that hasn’t been listed yet, at least according to the call sheets out to potential actors and actresses trying for the parts.
Along with the new parts for ‘Stranger Things’ season 2, a tagline was added to the casting call that states:
“When terrifying supernatural forces once again begin to affect Hawkins, they realize Will’s disappearance was only the beginning.”
‘Stranger Things’ will pick up in Hawkins, Indiana in 1984 — a year after the events from the first season that surrounded the disappearance of Will Byers.
‘Stranger Things’ season 2 will debut in the summer of 2017 on Netflix.
