In the Supergirl recap, Kara goes up against the most dangerous criminal held inside Fort Rozz and she finds out some hard truths that have been kept from her…

Ever since the death of her aunt Astra, Supergirl has ex-communicated herself from the DEO, particularly getting distance from Hank Henshaw who she believes is responsible for killing the only family member she had left.
Of course, Kara has no idea that it was actually her sister who delivered the death blow to Astra after a battle that nearly saw her kill Hank instead, but she’s resolved to deal with alien threats on her own this week rather than call on the DEO for help.
Enter Indigo — a part of the Brainiac collective (and here’s hoping we’ll see more of them as the series goes on), who was deemed the most dangerous convict captured and sentenced to Fort Rozz.
If you think Astra had bad plans for Earth, wait till you hear what Indigo (played by former Supergirl Laura Vandervoort) has in store for the planet.
With that said, let’s recap the latest episode of Supergirl titled ‘Solitude’
Sinners Exposed
To kick off the episode this week, Cat Grant is dealing with a fiasco involving her massage therapist and other first world problems that has her down in the dumps so she’s looking for a big story to keep her in good spirits. Like clockwork, Cat receives an unmarked package in the mail with a flash drive inside that contains hacked data from a website similar to Ashley Madison where many of the world’s richest and most powerful go to have an affair.
While this could mean big business for Cat. Co, the boss says no go on publishing the documents and she would rather have the thumb drive destroyed. Her outing other powerful figures just means there are those who will look into her as well and Cat would rather avoid people digging the skeletons out of her closet.
But Cat’s new assistance Siobhan decides not to destroy the thumb drive — not out of personal reasons but rather because she wants to know if her father, who is a powerful member of the upper crust of society, has been cheating on her mother (again). This ultimately leads to Siobhan confessing that to Winn before she plants a big kiss on him — and thus another couple is created!
A few seconds after Cat shoots down the story, a beautiful blonde pops on the computer screen and admonishes the media powerhouse for not publishing what would have been a massive story.
So with no help from the media, the on screen baddie unleashes her powers, which includes complete control over all computers as she manages to turn every red light green throughout National City. As car crashes start to pile up, Kara is forced to fly into action to stop it and now she’s determined to find out about this alien creature without asking for help from the DEO.
Welcome to the Fortress
Alex and Hank are also looking into this computer hack and they actually end up enlisting Winn into their ranks to help crack the code belonging to this latest alien threat.
It turns out, the alien’s name is Indigo — she’s a part of the Braniac initiative, who was imprisoned in the Phantom Zone after she tried to hack into the Kryptonian database in an attempt to eviscerate all life on the planet. It appears Indigo has similar plans for Earth as well and to compound problems she’s also an ex-girlfriend of Non.
She reunites with him while talking about how much she hated Astra while Non does his best to defend his fallen bride as he flirts with the blue-skinned beauty. Indigo also brings up Myriad, which is the program Astra wanted to unleash on the world, but whatever was being planned isn’t nearly as bad as what this cybernetic organism has in mind.
Meanwhile, Kara needs help looking up information on the alien threat without the help of the DEO so James leads her to Superman’s fortress of solitude.
It’s there that she sees a little more history about her cousin Kal-El while also finding out about Indigo’s deadly origins.
Once she decodes Indigo’s plans she’s on the same path as the DEO because they’ve also figured out that the whole plan to unleash the details from a website dedicated to adultery was to track down one particular general amongst all those listed in the database. That general holds the keys to a missile silo with enough nuclear weapons inside to wipe out half the country. That goes a long way towards Indigo completing her plan to rid the world of humans once and for all.
Gave Her a Cold
Kara rushes off to the silo and battles Indigo but can’t stop her in time from launching the missiles. She rushes out to stop the missiles from landing but has to call on Hank to get the codes to prevent one of the nuclear bombs from hitting its target in National City.
Hank’s help prevents the missiles from landing and with Winn’s help, they are able to feed Indigo a computer virus that not only shuts her down but destroys her from the inside out. What worked in Independence Day still works to this day! Before she’s destroyed, Indigo does share one piece of vital information with Kara — it seems she ‘woke up’ inside Fort Rozz and detected the lost ship carrying Kara that was meant to land on Earth. If not for her recalculating the course, Kara would have never landed on Earth but then again the prisoners in Fort Rozz wouldn’t have followed her either.
The day is saved although Non ends up with Indigo’s scattered body parts so it looks like he’s going to rebuild her and make her a weapon for his cause instead.
Following a rough day where the world nearly ended because Kara refused to work with the DEO, she returns to the organization and tells Hank that she’s coming back but only on the condition that it’s for the betterment of the planet that they work together. Kara’s still not ready to deal with Hank after he killed Astra.
Finally as she sees the chasm widen even deeper, Alex finally comes clean with her sister and explains to Kara that she’s the one who killed Astra. If not for that, Astra would have killed Hank so Alex did what she had to do. She also confesses that she didn’t want to lie but Alex was afraid that Kara would turn on her so Hank took the blame so she could keep her sister.
Rather than get angry and storm out, Kara hugs Alex and the two sisters embrace with a few tears being shed. Kara also ends up reaching out to Hank and while no words are spoken, it’s clear that she’s not only forgiven him but now understands the lengths he’ll go to when it comes to protecting her and the ones she loves the most.
Following a very long, hard day, Kara goes back to the office where she meets up with James, who asks her one last time for permission to share the Supergirl secret with Lucy. Kara finally agrees but when James goes to tell her, Lucy ends up breaking up with him.
It seems Kara shared a story with Lucy while trying to smooth things over and accidentally revealed some very personal information about James getting his first camera as a kid — it was a story that even Lucy had no idea had happened. That clued her into the fact that James obviously cared for Kara and she also cared for him.
So Lucy breaks up with James and tells him that maybe it’s time that he followed his heart for once because it seems that he’s being led to Kara and they should finally just admit their feelings for each other and be happy together.
Sappy end, broken hearts, and now maybe Kara and James will FINALLY stop dancing around the obvious and get together once and for all.
