Carlos Bernard — best known for playing Tony Almeida in the long running FOX series ’24’ — will be joining the upcoming third season of ‘Supergirl’.
Bernard will be portraying Oscar Rodas, who just so happens to be Maggie Sawyer’s father, which should be an interesting role for the season considering the ongoing storyline with his daughter and Alex Danvers.
As it was explained during ‘Supergirl’ season 2, Maggie came out to her ultra conservative parents as gay and her father ultimately kicked her out of the house. Now Maggie is mulling over a proposal from her girlfriend Alex after she popped the question in the season finale.
Of course, Floriana Lima, who plays Maggie, has been dropped from a full time cast member to recurring status for season 3 but it looks like she’ll still have plenty of story to play with as her father will land in National City this season.
‘Supergirl’ season 3 debuts on Monday, October 9 on the CW.
