Details have emerged in the highly anticipated Supergirl-The Flash crossover headed for CBS on March 28….
On March 28, two different DC Universes will cross paths as The Flash appears in National City and teams up with Supergirl to battle against a pair of villains who are threatening the city.
Grant Gustin aka The Flash will join Melissa Benoist aka Supergirl for a special crossover episode that will bridge the two popular DC TV series for the first time ever.
The plot for the upcoming crossover episode titled “World’s Finest” should give some insight into how Barry Allen shows up on Kara Danvers front doorstep looking for help:
“Kara gains a new ally when the lightning-fast superhero The Flash (Grant Gustin) suddenly appears from an alternate universe and helps Kara battle Siobhan, aka Silver Banshee, and Livewire in exchange for her help in finding a way to return him home.”
So that explains why The Flash will appear in National City but no one has ever heard of him before and the same can be said for The Flash (currently airing on the CW) where Supergirl nor her cousin Superman are ever mentioned. They are in two alternate universes!
To commemorate the upcoming episode, CBS also released a special poster for the Supergirl-Flash crossover.
Comic book fans will recognize that this poster is a play on the classic Superman issue No. 199 with cover by Carmine Infantino that posed the question of who was faster — Superman or The Flash?
The Supergirl-The Flash crossover episode airs Monday night, March 28 at 8pm on CBS.
