The Man of Steel Superman will join his cousin on Supergirl season 2 coming this fall on the CW….
As Supergirl shifts to Monday nights on The CW this fall, the show is looking to add a Man of Steel to the cast.
Warner Bros. Television and the CW announced on Tuesday that they are actively casting the role of Superman for Supergirl season 2, with the iconic character making an appearance in the season debut later this year.
Superman was often mentioned by his cousin during the first season of Supergirl, but he never made a full fledged appearance — until now.
“Greg, Ali and I are beyond thrilled to welcome Clark Kent and his slightly-more-famous alter ego to the world of Supergirl,” says Executive Producer Andrew Kreisberg. “Superman will be appearing in the first two episodes of the new season and we cannot wait to see who next dons the red cape!”
Supergirl producers are actively casting the role right now but no decisions have been made yet on who will play the Man of Tomorrow when the show returns this fall.
If our vote counts for anything, here’s hoping Supergirl looks directly at Tom Welling — who played Superman for 10 seasons on Smallville — to fill the familiar role.
