Following months of speculation, Taylor Kitsch, Rachel McAdams and Kelly Reilly have officially joined the cast of True Detective season 2….
The guessing games about the featured cast for True Detective season 2 can finally stop as HBO has confirmed roles for Taylor Kitsch, Rachel McAdams and Kelly Reilly along with descriptions of their characters.
The newly announced trio joins Colin Farrell and Vince Vaughn, who were previously confirmed for the show that has started production in California with a summer 2015 debut date on HBO expected.
Taylor Kitsch will play Paul Woodrugh, a war veteran and motorcycle officer for the California Highway Patrol, running from a difficult past and the sudden glare of a scandal that never happened.
Rachel McAdams will play Ani Bezzerides, a Ventura County Sheriff’s detective whose uncompromising ethics put her at odds with others and the system she serves.
Kelly Reilly will play Jordan, Frank Semyon’s (Vince Vaughn) wife, a former D-list actress who is a full partner in his enterprises and ambitions.
The tag line for the new season of True Detective teases “three police officers and a career criminal must navigate a web of conspiracy in the aftermath of a murder.”
All three actors have been previously rumored for the show, but not until Monday were they officially confirmed. Stay tuned for more True Detective news as the show’s production wraps next year and the series debuts in 2015.
